2013 Miss Asia Carolinas Showcases
Diversity, Awards ScholarshipsThe 2013 Miss Asia Carolinas again displayed a wide diversity of culture and an exceptional blend of talents.
The MAC Talent Show opened with diverse performances of a Bollywood dance medley by the Miss Asia Carolinas winner, Nupur Charyalu, the Chinese guzheng number with vocals by Julia Gong, 2nd place, Vietnamese fan dance and Bach on the keyboard by Kem Kem, 3rd place; Chinese modern dance / color guard by Judy Wei, Miss Talent. Allyssa Abalos, the 15 yr. old rep from the Philippines was Ms Photogenic (via Facebook), June Nean, who did a Cambodian traditional dance was chosen as Ms Congeniality by the participants themselves and a new category, to encourage more camaraderie, Ms Friendship went to Ngun Khen Tial of Burma, who sang in Burmese.
Ms Philippines Monique Tuzon, the Miss Asia Carolinas 2012 winner, did the honors and crowned Ms India, Nupur, the new Miss Asia Carolinas, while the judges put on the winners' sashes, handed out the trophies, bouquets. Dr. Nini Bautista, MAC Founder and Chair, gave out the scholarship checks & gifts, amounting to more than $5,000!
