2014 DEC 3 Networking Event
Carolinas Asian-American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC) organized a very successful Holiday Business Networking event on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Chima Brazilian Steakhouse in uptown Charlotte.
The room was filled with professionals, business owners, and leaders representing various Asian countries and beyond. Among the guests were: Keva Walton - Sr. VP Member Engagement, and Eileen Cai – Economic Development Staff, both of Charlotte Chamber of Commerce; NC State Representative Rodney Moore; Josh Ward -Field Representative for Senator Richard Burr; and Yuseff Howard - Chief Executive Officer of EB5-Progressive Funding Solutions. It was very encouraging to see some recent graduates, with some of them mentioning that they were thrilled as this was their first experience attending a networking event. The positive energy in the room was really heartwarming, especially during this wonderful season.
The featured speakers were: Mr. Mohammad Jenatian - President of the Greater Charlotte Hospitality & Tourism Alliance; Mr. Ravi Patel - Owner of SREE Hotels; and Mr. Jo Han - Owner of Super G-Mart. All three of them spoke with passion about their business success in this country as internationals. Their insights were extremely valuable and CAACC genuinely appreciates their time spent for the benefit of all.
It was a proud moment for CAACC when Mr. Kamal Dhimal and Mr. Durga Dhimal thanked CAACC for its continued support for the refugee community. It was an elated feeling for many when they mentioned how the mentorship of CAACC has helped them start successful business in the Charlotte area after coming here as refugees from Nepal.
The evening became extra special when Jennifer Roberts stepped into the room from her event that was held in an adjacent space, to share how thankful she is for the support from the Asian and International community, and how privileged she is to be able to run for the position as the next Mayor of Charlotte.
A very special “thank you” to our sponsor Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, and to all the six vendors: Wells Fargo Bank; Winthrop University MBA program; the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce; World Financial Group; Heartland Institute of Financial; and JustnCase Insurance, for making this event even more interesting and appealing.
This was a free event, and the complimentary valet parking offered by Chima restaurant, gave a little peace-of-mind for those who find downtown parking a challenge. CAACC also raffled off six wonderful door prizes at this event, including a free CAACC membership for year 2015. Special thanks go out to Hissho Sushi, Progressive Funding, and Chima for sponsoring the door prizes.
Under the leadership of the current CAACC President, Mr. Nimish Bhatt, and VPs of Business, Mr. Kiran Patel and Mr. John Zhang, this event was indeed another successful CAACC event that brought such unity in the Charlotte area.
CAACC extends their sincere appreciation to all for making this a successful networking evening.
