2015 Chinese New Year Celebration
at the Cone Center of UNC Charlotte
Chinese American Association of Charlotte and Confucius Institute at the Pfeiffer University co-hosted the 2015 Chinese New Year Celebration at the Cone Center of UNCC on February 15th by teaming up with UNCC Chinese Student and Scholar Association, Times & Tides Group USA, Inc., Carolina Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Oversea Chinese Culture Athletic and Arts Federation and Fortress System, Inc.. The celebration began with the pre-show activities including Chinese calligraphy demonstrations, Chinese riddles, face painting and other children’s games, followed by the stage performances in the afternoon and concluded with wonderful Chinese food feast at Lotus Buffet Restaurant in the evening. About 600 audiences filled in McKnight Hall to its full capacity and watched the celebration performances by local and out-of-state artists. Among the audiences are Chinese Embassy Counselor and Consul General Ruan Ping, State Senator Tommy Tucker, former chair of Mecklenburg county commissioners Jennifer Roberts, Charlotte Economic Development Director Bill Cronin, president of Charlotte World Affairs Council Ljubomir (L.J.) Stambuk and representatives from CAACC (John Chen, Nimish Bhatt, Ki-Hyun Chun, Andrea Lee), etc.”
